In the event you have to leave your home due to an incoming storm or localized disorder,  this kit has everything that you will need.  You might have to temporarily live in or near your car as you travel to a place of refuge or to a friend or relative's home. (not always the same thing)

If your friends or relatives let you into their home, (I wouldn't) you can plug the included AC to USB adapter into a wall outlet to power the battery charger.  VOILA!  You can now charge your AA and AAA batteries.

If you end up sleeping in your car or do not have access to an AC outlet, you plug the DC to USB adapter into your car's cigarette lighter and plug the battery charger into that and...you know the rest. 

The larger red solar panel is about the size of a sun visor.  You stick this on the dash of your car and plug it into the cigarette lighter and it will trickle charge your battery to keep it charged up.

Plug in the cigarette lighter splitter if you need to use two 12-volt devices at a time or you can lay the solar panel on the dash board and plug it into the splitter so that you can freshen your car battery while you are using the other outlet to run a charger, radio, etc.

Use the Universal Lithium Battery Charger to charge cellphone or PDA batteries.  That also plugs into the USB to AC adapter or the USB cigarette lighter adapter.
