When disaster strikes, will you be able to sustain yourself and your family?  Will you have sufficient food to see you through the hard times.

Everyone should have at least three months worth of food put aside and one year if at all possible.  You don't have to purchase it all at one time if you cannot afford to do so, but remember that prices are continuing to go up and every day you wait, it will cost you more.

Food is a better investment than gold.  If or When the bottom falls out and people are scrambling to survive, how much food do you think you will be able to purchase for an ounce of gold?  Reverse that for a moment and consider how much of your food reserves you would sell to a stranger for an ounce of gold?  At that time, you wouldn't sell a pound of rice for an ounce of gold and neither would I.

Gold will not buy food when food becomes scarce.
